How to register: The space is limited. We encourage those interested to register by mail as early as possible. This year’s Tryouts are only 2 weeks away. As the Director of Coaching for Vardar North, I would like to personally invite you to join our club. If you are a talented player who likes to maximize his/her soccer skills, you should join our Vardar family. Here are a few reasons why Vardar North has become the best soccer club in Mid Michigan:

• Our coaches are our biggest assets. Our coaches are highly experienced in the game of soccer both as players and certified coaches.
• Our training sessions are designed to meet the needs of our players in four major training areas; Technical, Tactical, Physiological, and Psychological.
  Many of our Vardar North players have managed to meet their dreams of playing soccer at college level.
• Our players are driven to be the best that they can be in the beautiful game of soccer. Currently some of the most talented local players play for our teams. Therefore, once you join our club, you’ll be in the company of some of the finest players in Mid Michigan.
• Finally, before the establishment of Vardar North in Mid Michigan, our players had to endure hours of travelling to the Metropolitan Detroit area to receive quality soccer training. However, now Vardar North provides Mid Michigan players with the best soccer training in both Saginaw and Flint for the fraction of the cost of some of the bigger clubs in Michigan.

To remember Adam, as most of us knew him, the Adam Puvalowski Memorial is hosting a soccer game celebrate his short life, promote safe driving, and raise funds for the Adam Puvalowski Memorial Scholarship Fund. The game will be held at the Saginaw Township Soccer Complex on May 8th at 6:30 p.m. There will be donation tables around the field, drawings for many great prizes, and a donation only bake sale. Donations are strictly voluntary and there will be no admittance fee. At halftime, 10 lucky contestants will have the opportunity to win $5,000 while participating in the Money Shot. Tickets to participate will be sold throughout the game. Each contestant will take a shot from 20 yards away from the goal and must score through a 19” hole in a wall to win.

Not many people have created a name for themselves in the Saginaw area as Adam Puvalowski did in his few years. Adam started playing soccer at a young age in Freeland, MI. From there, he moved his talents to a few travel teams in Saginaw Township and the surrounding areas. Once he had proven himself to be a dominant player in the Saginaw area, he moved up to more prestigious teams. Adam played for many Vardar teams competing at many levels including Premier, Midwest Regional League, and the National Academy Team. He played soccer all over the United States and even traveled to other countries including Brazil just for soccer. Adam also played high school soccer for Nouvel Catholic Central where he earned All State honors.

We hope to fill the sidelines with fans and remember Adam the way he would want us to; a fun night out at the soccer fields. We appreciate your support and hope to see you there!

Come join us on May 1st, Sunday afternoon to celebrate life as Carolynn would have wanted us to on her 19th birthday!

Carolynn’s Mt. Pleasant High School and Vardar North ‘92 teammates will scrimmage with other high school players, past coaches, parents, and travel teams in an effort to raise funds for the construction of dugouts at the Mt. Pleasant Horizon Park Soccer Fields.

Registration begins at 2:00 p.m. by the Gorton-Cosan Memorial Garden at Horizon Park, 1535 Sweeney St, Mt. Pleasant, MI. 48858

A $20.00 donation is suggested for the opportunity to play and a keepsake T-shirt. Memorial bracelets will also be available on a first-come-first serve basis for an additional $5.00.

The “Vardar North U10 Academy” was introduced in the Fall of 2010 to talented 8, 9, and 10 year old soccer players in Mid Michigan.

These young athletes play for different teams in the area, but they come together once a week to be trained by the Vardar North elite coaching staff. The U10 Academy program is currently offered in Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons. Players are free to enroll in a certain season or stay active throughout all three seasons. This program has enjoyed the over whelming support of the whole community. The picture above is of those athletes who participated in the winter training sessions and they are accompanied by Drago Dumbovic, the Director of Vardar North, Steve Walker, Adrian Thomas, and Liviu Gligor of the Vardar North coaching staff.

Vardar North has long realized that talented players who are 8 through 10 years old can benefit from a training program designed specifically for their needs. This program should emphasize the players’ technical abilities and implementation of these skills into tactical strategies of the modern game. Beginning in August, 2010, Vardar North will provide these specialized training sessions to those individuals who meet the necessary requirements.

We recommend all interested players attend the evaluation sessions scheduled for August 15th and August 22nd from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the Saginaw Township Soccer Association (STSA). This process will allow the Vardar coaching staff to identify prospects for the program. Registration will begin at 5:00 p.m. at STSA Pavilion. More details are available here.

Rene Meulensteen, who is the 1st team coach at Manchester United, was the featured speaker at a coaching clinic held in Grand Rapids in mid-June, 2010 attended by Vardar North Director of Coaching, Reza Saffarian, and team coaches Adrian Thomas and Steve Walker.

From a parent, who had a player participate in the event, “Nice experience. Never saw that much positive reinforcement anywhere. The kid grew 5 inches in two days. Perfect opportunity!”
