On 5/14/2010, Vardar North lost a great family member. Carolynn Ashley Cosan, born May 1, 1992 was involved in a fatal car accident which left our soccer community grieving.

Carolynn was a valuable member of our Vardar North family. She was a senior at Mount Pleasant High School where she played varsity soccer for all four years. Her leadership skills earned her the captainship of the team at her High School. Carolynn was accepted at Northern Michigan University to play varsity soccer for the Wildcats beginning Fall 2010. She was the first woman from MPHS to receive a soccer scholarship to play at a Division I/II University. Carolynn has been playing soccer since she was eight years old. She has been playing with Vardar North for the past four years. In addition to playing soccer, Carolynn also gave back to the soccer community by serving as a USSF-certified soccer referee.

In the winter, however, her love was snowboarding. Her friends and family will always remember their trips to Caberfae, Boyne, Marquette Mountain, Colorado, and Utah to enjoy the thrill of winter sports. Carolynn was a certified snowboard instructor and a hunter who liked to hunt turkeys, deer, ducks and geese. Her other activities included Girl Scouts, track, cross country, and softball. In addition, she was a Junior dog handler and a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation.

Carolynn is survived by her parents, Robert and Kip Cosan and her sister, Jaclynn. She will be greatly missed by all of us at Vardar North.

This last Saturday evening, 5/1/2010, at approximately 10:30 PM we lost a great member of our soccer community. Adam Puvalowski was a very talented soccer player who was supposed to graduate from Nouvel Catholic Central High School in a few weeks. He was recruited by SVSU to play soccer starting this fall. However, his life was cut short as he was killed in a car accident on the way home. Our soccer community lost a great friend and a role model. Adam touched many lives during his short life. Those of us who were fortunate enough to know him enjoyed his friendship, sense of humor, and his relentless effort to improve his soccer skills. He will be greatly missed.

Nouvel Catholic Central's #4

In his honor and to celebrate his short life we have planned a charity soccer game. Friends, former coaches and teammates will play a game in Adam’s honor under the lights on Field 3 of the Saginaw Township Soccer Complex, 3575 McCarty Road at 7 p.m. with the kickoff at 7:45 p.m. Thursday. Please attend this game to pay your respects to Adam. A scholarship has been established under Adam’s name and you may contribute $25.00 to this fund or his funeral expenses once you attend the game. A flyer with more game details is available here as a PDF.
