John Talley College Showcase Champs
The Vardar North U16 Girls College Showcase Team met the Kentucky U16 ODP team in the finals of the John Talley College Showcase held March 27-28th in Memphis, Tenn. As with their previous matches, the girls came away with a victory and a shutout. Final score was 5-0. The Showcase team went undefeated throughout the tournament with an impressive 4-0-0 record, 17 goals for and 0 goals against. Congratulations to all the young ladies and to coach Nigel Roberts.

The Showcase Team is made up of a core group of girls from the mid-Michigan area. Nine girls are from the Vardar North U16 team, two girls are from North Macomb, one is from the Novi Jags, and one is from Phoenix. The team also makes use of a pool of guest players from Ohio and NC as needed.
The goal is to do one tournament a month and supplement some weekends off with other activities, ex: scrimmages, fundraising, ACT prep and some of the girls will be travelling together to watch the U.S. women’s team play in Ohio.
